Southern Estonia is an underrated caravanning paradise – hills, lakes and quiet forests offer the peace sought beyond Tallinn. 2026. There is even more to discover this year!
We recommend a 5–7 day itinerary:
- Day 1–2: Võrtsjärv – the largest lake in Estonia, fishing, boating, overnight stay by the lake (e.g. RMK or private campsites).
- Day 3–4: Suur Munamägi (318 m) – the highest point in the Baltics, observation tower and hiking trails. Park the caravan down and climb up!
- Day 5–7: Hidden gems – Karula National Park, Hargla village, Haanja hills, Otepää ski trails (for hiking in summer).
Why is this area special?
- Less crowded than on the north coast.
- Great views, berry and mushroom picking areas.
- Good road conditions for the caravan.
