Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular in Estonia, and by 2026, traveling with an EV in a caravan will be completely realistic. Lightweight and aerodynamic caravans are perfect because they reduce energy consumption and allow longer distances without recharging. However, you need to consider that depending on the wind and the dimensions of the car, your electricity costs can be almost 2 times higher than without a trailer.
Good combinations in our rental selection:
- Tesla Model Y + Niewiadow New Star (kerb weight ~750–900 kg) – light and compact, an ideal and visually pleasing combination.
- BMW iX + Adria 502UL – up to 1500 kg gross weight, stable and comfortable. The BMW iX and, for example, the Mercedes EQC can tow this trailer so that you drive as if you were driving without it.
- Hyundai Ioniq 5 / Kia EV6 + caravan N126 – an ultra-light option, ideal for a vacation for two.
Tips for EV caravan travel:
- Charging locations: Use Circle K’s convenient network of fast chargers (many near RMK).
- Routes: Tallinn–Pärnu–Saaremaa or Lahemaa loop – up to 300–400 km per day.
- Save energy: drive 80–90 km/h, avoid strong headwinds.
These combinations are environmentally friendly, quiet and forward-looking!
