Algajale karavanirentijale: 10 viga, mida vältida

Traveling with a caravan is freedom and adventure, but beginners often have minor or major hiccups that can ruin the vacation. Learn from others’ mistakes and enjoy a carefree trip! Our caravanrent.ee caravans are easy to use and we always provide a comprehensive guide, but here are 10 common mistakes to avoid.

  1. Failure to check car suitability – Make sure your car’s permitted trailer weight (e.g. up to 750kg for category B driving licences) corresponds to the gross weight of the caravan. Too heavy a load can be dangerous and is prohibited!
  2. Incorrect coupling of the hitch – Double check: hitch, safety chains, electrical connection, handbrake and support wheel. A wrong connection can come loose on the road.
  1. Uneven load distribution – Heavier items towards the front of the caravan to avoid ‘tail wagging’. Overloading the axles wears out tires and increases fuel consumption.
  2. Additional mirrors – Additional mirrors are recommended to see behind the caravan. Without them, maneuvering is difficult.
  1. Overestimating speed – Drive the Caravan more slowly (80-90km/h recommended), especially when cornering and in the rain. The distance to stay increases significantly! 6.

6. Forgetting gas and water – Check gas cylinder filling, water tank and emptying.

7. Disregarding the rules of the campsite – Book a place in advance, observe the quiet time and waste disposal. The “leave no trace” principle applies to RMK’s free places.

8. Ignoring the weather forecast – Strong winds can make driving uncomfortable. Plan your route according to the weather.

9. Not testing your equipment – Try setting up your awning and tent at home. Reminding or forgetting something during a trip spoils the mood.

10. Forgetting insurance and documents – Make sure the car’s documents are with you and check that the rental agreement is signed.
